J. Ann Thomas

J. Ann Thomas grew up in a home where love was not only spoken but lived. As one of nine children raised by Oscar and Harvie Gentry, she learned early on what it meant to serve quietly, carry responsibility with grace, and hold fast to faith in every season. Her writing reflects these values, shaped by long years of caregiving, working, and witnessing the strength of family through both celebration and sorrow.

Judy began her career as a surgical technologist in 1970 and later became a certified medical coding specialist. Her professional life was spent in hospitals and clinics, but her spiritual calling came through in every part of her journey. In 2013, she graduated from the World Bible College, deepening her commitment to ministry and service. Through her time on the East Coast, including six years at DePaul Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, she touched lives with both skill and compassion.

Writing The Seed Journey of the Nine was never about storytelling for its own sake. It was about honor. It was about remembering the parents who worked hard, prayed harder, and held their family together with wisdom, warmth, and unwavering belief in God’s provision. Through this book, Judy offers not just a reflection on her past but a heartfelt gift for future generations: a reminder of where we come from and the quiet power of those who made the journey before us.

She writes as a daughter, a sister, a caregiver, and a believer. Her words carry the weight of memory and the light of gratitude.
